Giritale Hotel

A place to investigate, not a promise to book.

Close to the archaeological sites in Polonnaruwa, the hotel is also within easy day-trip distance of other places of interest in the Cultural Triangle. Set amidst the dry zone tropical forests, it is also a good base for watching wildlife in the nearby jungles or in the Minneriya National Park. The reception conveys the easy going pace of the hotel, which is simple, pleasant and hospitable. One of the hotel's best assets is the magnificent sweeping view of the 12th century ocean-like Giritale tank. Facilities available to guests at the hotel include currency exchange facilities and room and laundry services. The cosy rooms ensure comfort and have a soothing, ethnic decor. Each room features an en suite bathroom, a double bed, direct dial telephone, TV, Internet access, a minibar and air conditioning. The lake can be seen from most of the rooms but the view is best enjoyed from the windows of the deluxe rooms, two of which also have balconies and private grass terraces. Guests may take a dip in the hotel's outdoor swimming pool. The hotel offers a restaurant with a terrace, a bar and a tea house for children.
